SUMMIT One Vanderbilt—A Must-Visit Place in NYC
The beautiful building is a commercial skyscraper at 1,401 feet tall and surpasses the world-famous Empire State Building by 251 feet. It’s also the fourth tallest building in NYC and consists of 93 floors. It opened to the public as recently as 2021, and has been gaining popularity ever since.
Out of all the floors, floors 91, 92, and 93 are dedicated observation decks, which offer you an unparalleled experience through panoramic views of New York.
The observation decks have expansive glass walls and open-air spaces to provide you with a feeling of comfort while seeing the city view below. You can view the iconic landmarks like the Empire State Building, Central Park, and the Chrysler Building, from a whole new perspective. The observation decks offer the highest vantage point in Midtown Manhattan.
The Big Apple is world-famous for being culturally diverse and accepting all arts with open arms. SUMMIT One Vanderbilt is no exception and displays art installations from artists, making the observation rooms in the building look more like art galleries!
The 91st floor is the first observation deck in the building, called Transcendence 1. The art installation in this room includes floor-to-ceiling mirrors that were created by Kenzo Digital. They make the surroundings reflective, giving you an immersive experience. You can walk along to reach the room “Reflect” to find cloud art installations by the artist Yayoi Kusama, that are set on the floor. You can then reach the “Affinity” room for a breathtakingly dreamy experience amidst floating orbs.
The 92nd floor is the second observation deck in the building, called Transcendence 2. It has glass floors, giving you a top-view of the floor below, which is Transcendence 1. There is an attached glass-bottomed section of the floor called “Levitation” that gives you a full view of the city below. On the same floor, you can enter “Unity,” an art exhibit that displays your face in the art clouds, if you scan your wristband before entering the room.
The 93rd floor is the third and highest observation deck in the building. It includes the world’s biggest glass-door elevator that takes you to the vantage point of the building for a spectacular view of NYC. The cafe “Après” on the floor has all that you want to eat and drink.
With so many things to offer, the skyscraper is a justified tourist attraction in NYC that you should not miss!
